Review || Sleek MakeUp Blush in Flushed

Anyone else finding it impossible to find good lighting lately?

Sleek MakeUp is quickly becoming one of my favourite brands when it come to blush. Whenever I pop into Superdrug I always check out their blush. Flushed was the first Sleek MakeUp blusher I bought. I loved the colour, packaging and the pigmentation was crazy, I just knew I had to have it. I've had this blush for probably a little over a year and you might notice that it hasn't had a lot of use. This is because of how pigmented the blush actually is. I've got quite pale skin, and as you can see in the picture, the blush is quite dark, so it's taken me quite a long time to get used to how much product I should use in order to not look like a clown. This blush has definitely taken a back burner in the last year, especially after buying Sleek MakeUp's most famous blush, Rose Gold (Review Here) and getting my first ever Nars Blush in Deep Throat. But being well and truly in Autumn, I decided to pick out a few autumnal make up products and I rediscovered this blush and thought I'd give it another go.

Flushed is a deep plum colour. It's advertised as leaving a matt finish but I'm convinced it has a slightly shimmer, which, to be honest, I'm quite happy about. The shimmer isn't very obvious but it does leave a slight cheek glow and giving you skin an overall radiant look. I apply this blush with my Real Techniques Multi-Tasking Brush but I'm sure any other blush brush would work fine. Like I've already said, this blush is really pigmented so I try to not to get too much on my brush. Luckily, it blends really well and leaves a really beautiful flush to my cheeks. This blush looks gorgeous with a bronze eye make up, I would recommend Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Cream Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze. I also think a nude or glossy lip looks great with this blush.

Have you used any Sleek MakeUp Blusher? What's your favourite blush for Autumn?

Sleek MakeUP Review: True Colour Lipsticks

Ever since discovering Sleek MakeUP I have well and truly been in love with the brand and all their products. I am yet to try out a product that I don't like. Recently I found myself trawling the Internet and ended up slap bang in the middle of the True Colour Lipstick section of Sleek MakeUP's website, how I ended up there I will never know. But anyway, I was immediately drawn towards the beautiful shades of 'Loved Up' and 'Tangerine Scream' at £4.99 each. I bought them and twiddled my thumbs for a couple of days until they arrived at my door.

'Loved Up' is a beautiful pink shade with a blue undertone. It applies gorgeously as the formula for this lipstick is really creamy. The colour is so pigmented and leaves a lovely sheen on the lips. I find that when applying this lipstick, using a lip brush is wise and you should always blot with a tissue. I find that I have to reapply 'Loved Up' around about every hour but I'm a reapplication addict, I reckon that this lipstick could last more like 5-6 hours before the colour fades completely, if not a bit longer. I put this down to how pigmented the colour is. For removal, I just wipe over my lips with a wipe and it tends to remove most of the colour from my lips but I do find that it stains a little.

'Tangerine Scream', I'm sure you can guess, is a bright orange colour. The formula for this lipstick is the same as 'Loved Up' so I would recommend applying it with a lip brush and blotting afterwards. I find that this colour doesn't stain my lips as much as the other one but it is just as pigmented. I also love the packaging of the lipsticks by Sleek MakeUP. They come in their own individual box with a swatch of the colour on the front. The lipsticks packaging itself is lovely with a matt black background and contrasting shiny, black imprint of the brand name. This brand is worth all the hype that their products get and I look forward to getting my hands on more of their products.

My Everyday Makeup

On an everyday basis, I don't like wearing too much makeup. This collection might look like quite a lot but it's a very natural look. I can suffer with quite problematic skin so tend to spend a little more time on my base. I keep my eye makeup very simple with a little mascara and eye liner. My lips again, are kept very simple with a slightly tinted lip balm to keep my lips smooth and soft.

Before applying any makeup, I apply my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel which came as part of a trio with a cleanser and toner. It applies beautifully and allows my makeup to glide on effortlessly. Next, I apply my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (review here) and my Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat (reviewed here).

Next I apply my foundation which is L'Oreal Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation in the shade Porcelain and I apply this with my Real Techniques foundation brush. Next I fill in my eyebrows with Sleek MakeUP's Brow Kit. I then set my base with Rimmel London Clear Complexion Powder and apply my bronzer to my contours using an angled brush. I then apply my new favourite blush, Sleek MakeUP blusher in Rose gold (reviewed here) with my Real Techniques blush brush.

Next, I apply my Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara which is my favourite mascara at the moment. I sweep this across my upper and lower lashes for length and volume. I then apply my Barry M Super Soft Eye Crayon to the outer third of my waterline. Next, I apply Benefits Sun Beam to my cheek and brow bones. I then apply Nivea Soft Rose Lip balm (reviewed here) and away I go.

Sleek MakeUp Rose Gold Blush Review

For absolutely ages now I've been trying to get my hands on Sleek MakeUp's Rose Gold blush but every time I've gone into my local Superdrug it's been out of stock, which has just confirmed to me that this was a blush that I had to have in my life.

I have a couple of Sleek MakeUp products in my collection but honestly this is a brand that I hadn't really heard of until late last year but I'm delighted that I have. You can check out my review of my first product from Sleek MakeUp in my Lipsticks of the Moment post.

Anyway, back to the blush. Rose Gold is a colour that has been really popular recently in the fashion world, with rose gold jewellery being everywhere it was merely a matter of time before the make up industry jumped on board. This gorgeous blush is a beautiful shade of rose pink with delicate specks of golden shimmer which leaves a beautiful finish to my everyday make up look. It is definitely my go to blush at the moment. This blush is beautiful all year round but I feel like it would look lovely in the warmer months with the sun reflecting of the golden shimmer.

Another thing I love about this blush is that the packaging is divine and without sounding cliche, it's very sleek. It very much reminds me of the Nars' packaging which I love. I would recommend this product a million times over and really look forward to trying more of this brands products.

October Favourites

Mua Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow Palette - £4
This palette from Mua has made it into my October favourites because I am just totally and completely in love with it. If you haven't heard all the hype of Mua's eyeshadow palette's then you must be living under some big, dark, heavy rock because they are all anyone in the beauty blogging scene is talking about. I originally wanted to get the Undressed palette but couldn't find it in any of my local Superdrug's, so I got the Heaven and Earth palette instead. I would really recommend Mua's products to anyone. The quality is amazing and the price is cheap cheap cheap!
Simple Spotless Skin Anti-blemish Moisturiser - £3
Usually I'm quite sceptical about buying "spot curing" products because I usually find that they don't work at all! I decided to pick up this moisturiser because I am a great lover of the Simple line and at £3 I wasn't wasting loads of money on something that might not work. I will be reviewing this product along with the Anti-blemish Cleansing Wipes soon so keep your eyes peeled.
Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick in Cherry - £4.99
I recently did a post called My Lipsticks of the Moment which featured this lipstick so check that out to see why it's made it into my October favourites!
Garnier Moisturising Lotion Sun-Kissed Look in Light - £5.09
I don't know about the rest of you pale girls but I am tired of standing next to my tanned friends looking like a ghost (even though it's been totally appropriate in October as its the month of Halloween). I decided to get a gradual tanner to build up a healthy tan that wasn't as drastic as a fake tan. This lotion works really well and smells delicious with extract of apricot. It doesn't leave me looking orange or streaky which is perfect.
